At the upcoming Dan internet domena Srbije – DIDS 2026 conference, the panel discussion
“Lokalac on the Internet” will explore how digital platforms can generate tangible social impact
and strengthen local communities.
At a time when the internet shapes the way we communicate, learn, and do business, the key
question is how digital space can be used for the benefit of society. Through examples of good
practice, the panel will address responsibility, solidarity, and the importance of socially
responsible initiatives in today’s digital environment, highlighting the results of the “Lokalac on
the Internet” project.
So far, the project has delivered measurable impact in the fields of education, youth support,
and improved working conditions within the community. Donations have helped improve the
working conditions of street newspaper vendors from Liceulice through the procurement of
equipment for safer and more dignified work. Support enabled students of the Matematička
gimnazija in Belgrade to visit CERN, encouraging their interest in science and research. The
project also funded participation of young talents from the Centar za mlade talente Nikola Tesla
in international competitions, where they won a total of 27 medals. Additionally, scholarships
were provided to children from low-income families through Kliker IT centar za decu, ensuring
more equal access to digital education and IT skills development.
The panel will be moderated by Marijana Borković, Marketing and Communications Associate at
RNIDS and Project Lead of “Lokalac on the Internet.” As the project initiator, she will present its
results, future plans, and introduce the new Lokalac collection.
Tijana Adamov Ignjatović, founder of the socially responsible communications festival Kampanje
sa svrhom and the “Žute pantalone” initiative, will discuss why the project received the
“Kampanja sa svrhom 2025” award in the Social category and the broader importance of
responsible campaigns in the digital sphere.
Mirjana Katić, Principal of the Matematička gimnazija in Belgrade, will share insights into the
importance of the donation for students and the school’s development.
Miloš Pešić, founder of Fondacija 1%, will speak about the challenges young people in Serbia
face today and how organizations and individuals can contribute to creating better conditions for
their personal and professional growth.
The “Lokalac on the Internet” panel offers a multidisciplinary perspective on the internet as a
space that, with the right initiative and responsibility, can become a powerful tool for social
change.
As part of the one-day program of DIDS 2026, attendees will also have the opportunity to follow
the latest research presentations, panel discussions, and keynote lectures addressing the role
of domains in modern business.
DIDS 2026 will take place on March 17 at Dom omladine Beograda. Registration is open via the
official conference website.
